Toyota Significantly Ups Engine Production in Kentucky

Interesting news, Toyota fans. West Herr Toyota Scion of Williamsville, your convenient new and used Toyota dealer serving Lockport, NY and the surrounding areas recently discovered that the Japanese auto brand will increase its 4-cylinder engine assembly capacity at its Kentucky plant, raising the company's overall investment in the plant to almost $6-billion and total number of factory employees to 6,700. The new $30-million project will create around 80 new positions at the factory and will raise 4-cylinder engine production at the plant by more than 500-thousand units.

Kentucky Governor Steven Beshear recently spoke about his and the state's excitement about the increased capacity level at the plant, stating, "Twenty-six years ago, I took part in Toyota's groundbreaking in Georgetown, which was filled with excitement for Kentucky's future. Today, we still have that same excitement for Toyota's past, present and future in the Commonwealth.  This latest expansion brings Toyota's total investment to nearly $6 billion, meaning billions of dollars in incomes for thousands of Kentuckians, changing lives, strengthening our economy, and improving the Commonwealth." Vice President of Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, Steve St. Angelo, also added to the sentiments, stating, "This engine production increase, and the several announcements before it, reflect our growing optimism for an improving North American market."1
