The Toyota Tacoma T/X Baja Edition has been publicly released at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.
"It's the type of truck that will shine in a Texas ranch environment, or on a Midwest hunting trip, off the highway in a California desert, or anywhere, east or west, where the roads are rugged," said Toyota division boss Bob Carter.1
The new Tacoma Baja includes Toyota's TRD Off-Road package, while riding two inches higher than the stock model on large coil springs and racing shocks in both the front and rear suspension. Also included in the Baja package is:
- Electronically controlled locking rear differential
- Active Traction Control
- Hill Start and Downhill Assist Controls
- BF Goodrich T/A KO tires (wrapped around off-road wheels in a gunmetal gray and Baja Series graphics)
T/X Baja Series will be available on the Tacoma Access Double Cab 4x4 models equipped with the TRD Off-Road Package. The truck will have a limited 2-month run during the spring of 2012.
